Symphyotrichum novae-angliae - New England Aster
Symphyotrichum novae-angliae - New England Aster
New England Aster is a late-bloomer that provides nectar to butterflies deep into the fall. It has flowers ranging from purple to pink. Don't be alarmed if lower leaves are shed during bloom—it's perfectly normal. Prune early to encourage bushy growth rather than standing tall. Hosting various moth varieties, this aster is a dynamic addition to your garden. Remove seed heads to prevent overcrowding. This flower is also salt-tolerant. Symphyotrichum novae-angliae is part of our Monarch Meal Plan of 9 native plants that are vital contributors to the well-being and life cycle of Monarch butterflies that you can learn more about here.

I am beyond pleased and thankful for 3 B Natives for providing affordable native plants to ship across the country! 3 B Natives made ordering native plants online a simple process and also provided beautiful, healthy (and pest free) plants! And their website made it easy to select plants native to my ecoregion!
I placed my order on a Thursday and it did not ship until the following Monday. (I was aware this would be the case so the plants weren't caught in the post office over the hot weekend!)
The plants arrived carefully packaged within 2 days and I was beyond pleased with them! They all arrived not only alive but in beautiful condition. Four weeks later and they are all thriving in my new lepidoptera garden!
I planted everything a few days after arrival. Everything is growing and the milkweeds are popping! I am 100% satisfied and will be a repeat customer! Research native plants for our pollinators! Prairie up!
