River Oats, with its strikingly bright light green hue and distinctive oat-like seeds dangling gracefully, is a charming addition to any landscape. This ornamental grass boasts the ability to self-seed, allowing it to spread naturally. However, it can be easily managed by removing and transplanting. Thriving in moist sandy or clay soil, Chasmanthium latifolium displays a delightful transformation in the fall when its oat seeds turn a warm brown. The seeds are a favorite among birds and other wildlife. It also makes a great choice for flower arrangements.

PLANTS MAY BE TRIMMED UPON ARRIVAL. We keep live plants trimmed for the health of the plant, and they may be cut before shipping. This does not harm the plant and actually makes it stronger and ready to grow for you when you receive it.

SHIPPING INFO:
We begin shipping live plants at the end of April and the first week of May depending on where you are located (weather permitting). Bulbs start shipping late July.
We ship live plants on Monday-Wednesday. Live plant orders ship in 1-2 business days unless ordered after cutoff time (7:00 AM on Wednesday) for the week, then it could take up to 3 business days. Orders received by 7:00 AM on Wednesday will ship the following Monday or Tuesday to make sure your plants aren't in transit longer than they should be. Delivery for all orders from carrier takes about 1-5 days. We ship all other products Monday-Friday.
