Oenothera pilosella - Prairie Sundrops

Oenothera pilosella, commonly known as Sundrops, is a vibrant member of the evening primrose family. This sun-loving plant features yellow fragrant flowers that bloom during the day and close at night, attracting a variety of pollinators. With its shallow roots, Sundrops can thrive in moist soil and full sun but is also tolerant of drought and some shade. Although it can be an aggressive grower, its shallow roots make it easy to control, allowing you to enjoy its cheerful blossoms without needing to worry about it taking over.
